It is owned by the Apollo Group INC. and has been ranked 25th for online degree programs in the year of 2008. UOP campus is based at a number of wide locations such as Netherlands, Chile, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Columbia. Total number of UOP campus is around 204 in total 40 locations. Currently UOP has 420,700 undergraduate students and 78,000 graduate students. There is diversity in the students and the teaching staff of UOP.
The UOP has four main colleges under which there are number of programs. These four colleges are – The Artemis School, The School of Advanced Studies, The John Sperling School of Business and Technology, and The Axia College. Along with its regular and online courses, UoP also offers teachers and practitioners with continuing education programs. Companies with professional development courses and military personnel with specialized study courses. The school has overall of around 100 degree programs at different levels.
The first accreditation that UOP got was as a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) from The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) in 1978. UOP has different accreditation for all its specialty programs for example B.S. and M.S. in nursing degree programs are accredited by Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), all Business programs are accredited by the Associate of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), etc.

Admissions at UOP do not require any entrance tests for undergraduate courses. Students are just required to have a High School Diploma or a GED.
