The University of Phoenix was established in 1976 and works towards providing education opportunities to the working students. The University makes sure that work does not come in the way of a person while he is completing his studies. For this the University provides various facilities and distance learning is one of them.

Distance learning was introduced because some students had to work and study at the same time. This made it very difficult for the student to come and attend classes in person. This is where the University stepped in and introduced distance learning. The university started its distance learning facility from 1989. This facility was convenient for the working students as they could decide their own schedule and timings for the classes that would not intervene with their working hours
In distance learning the students receive their assignments online and can take tests and other exams online.

The university offers degrees in many streams such as Management, Psychology, Communications, Nursing, Information Science etc.
The student can interact with the teachers and fellow students online and exchange notes. A student can take one course at a time and take a break whenever needed and get on quickly with the course. All assignments are available online. The University’s technical support group is quite good and ensures that the student does not miss any assignments or lecture. In case of any doubts or problems the teachers are always available to clear the doubts and solve the problems.

The best part about this program is that the University provides financial aid if it’s needed. The University helps the student in finding a good funding source for their course. They participate in several programs such as Federal Stafford Student Loan, Federal Plus Loan and Federal Pell Grant to ensure that the students get financial aid or scholarships.
Plus the student just goes for one course at a time; this makes it quite easy for the student to pay the fees as he does not have to pay the fees for 4-5 courses at a time.
